Vertex Shaker

A Vertex (Vortex) Shaker is a laboratory device used to mix small liquid samples quickly and efficiently. It works on the principle of creating a vortex (whirlpool-like motion) in the liquid by rapid circular shaking. The equipment usually consists of a motor-driven rubber cup or platform where the test tube or container is pressed, causing the liquid inside to swirl.
It is widely used in chemical, biological, and clinical laboratories for resuspending cells, mixing reagents, dissolving solids, or blending small volumes of solutions.
Features of Vertex Shaker:-
- Compact Design – Small and bench-top friendly for laboratory use.
- Simple Operation – Mixing is activated by pressing the tube/container against the rubber cup or by continuous mode.
- Speed Control – Variable speed settings (usually from 200 to 3000 RPM) for gentle to vigorous mixing.
- Modes of Operation –
- Touch mode (activates only when tube touches the cup).
- Continuous mode (runs without interruption).
- Mixing Capacity – Suitable for test tubes, vials, small flasks, or microplates (with attachments).
- Durable Construction – Stable base with anti-slip feet to prevent movement during operation.
- Efficient Mixing – Creates a strong vortex in seconds, ensuring uniform mixing of liquids.
- Safety Features – Overload protection and spill-resistant design in advanced models.
